We think that the nike ad says that if you are a young man, wearing nike products, you can be a popular, carefree, athletic, and possible run into a famous person. This ad does not tell you that maybe you will not encounter any of these situations.Or maybe not at all.The nike corp. should just suggegest that you will look nice wearing their fine line of athletic products.Tiffany, Liz, and Everett
Target audience for the commercial was young male skateboarder. Just a regular guy that is cleancut skateboarders are usually unaceptable to society. They protray this young male as being acceptable carefree and not a trouble maker. They also, through this commercial, say that if you buy their skateboard you can also become rich land powerful. All good things can come to you if you buy their skateboard. You can be young, goodlooking and rich. The police will not pay attention to you because by buying their skateboard you are no longer considered a troublemaker.
The nike commercial was aimed towards buying a brand named shoe. when you wear these shoes it makes you feel like you can have a great day and look good at the same time. It makes the audience also feel like you have a great skill, be carefree and fearless, making it a good day. It portrayed many celebrties into stopping to watch this guy skateboard, it kinda seemed like they thought he had a great skill because they are skillfull in other ways as well. The ending made an impact on the commercial because it showed the songwriter actually run over the board, making his day not so good.
the sterotype that i get from it is that it is for teenagers and young adults from all ethnic backrounds who like to skate or wanna become a professional skater that you dont have to have any worries about life, money, the police, but it also added real big names like paul rodrigeuz, eric koston, kobe bryant, ice cube to show that they are not just a one sided company for football and basketball they are expanding their horizons to keep up with other well known companys and also that not all skateboarders cuase trouble or cuase crimes they just wanna hangout with friends and just spend the day doing what they like to do without being bothered or harrassed.
This nike ad is very diverse it hit three differnt audince and culters and units them from hip hop to basketball to skate boarding nike really is trying to reach almost everybody and sell a skate shoe to those that dont even skate nike is expanding there marketing and making more money and more money and i anit mad at that
i like how nike is trying to give skate borders a good image. skate bordersare making them selfs be seen in a postive way i like that they are trying to send a postive mesage to the young youth who skate bord go nike "just do it"
The commercial was aimed toward young adult males 16-30 with a zest for life and carefree. It makes you feel that if you wore a pair of Nike tennis shoes you would be able to skate like a professional skater. It shows friendships and a love for life, your more fearless and a risk taker. Makes you think of skateboarding as a sport just like basketball.
We think that this Nike commercial is being targeted towards a younger more active generation. It is targeted at all races and mainly ages 11-35. The main message of the commercial is that if u wear Nike SB's it will be a good day. It portrays people who wear Nike as carefree risk takers that nothing goes wrong. What they don't tell you is that you just can't buy the shoes and become a pro skater, it takes practice.
nike sb shoe commercial mostly targets a younger more active crowd. it seemed like they werent just tyrying to target skaters more like risk takers and carefree livers. nike portrays you to think that you eill have a good day if you were these shoes it can get you out of trouble, have you meet kobe and ice cube. the thing that they dont tell you is that you cant just put on the shoe and be a professinal skater, it takestime and practice.
This add is for young male skaters. They refere to a skaters free will and ability to have fun. I dont agree with the kid running into all the celebrities. I agree with Bj becuase the life of a skater isnt like. they are usually cast out. This is kinda saying if u ware nike ur not a trouble maker.
I think that whether or not you are a skater or rapper or basketball player Nike shoes dont make you better. Nor do i think that you have to be male to wear that particular shoe style and can be that carefree about your day. Plus you would care if your skate board got ran over they are pretty expensive.
I believe that Nike created the message to promote their shoes. The target audience seems to be youth males. "Today was a good day" was the message, the comercial shows a young man getting up in the morning with no worries, smiling, going out to enjoy what likes to do, all while wearing Nike's. To me it presented a carefree, fun, free willed lifstyle. The value expressed was youth freedom, and self motavation. The message is presented with a good attitude and empowers the youth... bj said that buying thier skateboard that they become powerful.... I percieved this differently, i felt the skateboard was showing the diversity in people wearing there product not someone thats rich and powerful. If that were the case they would be driving bently not rolling on a skateboard through the hood.
The target audience was for young male skateboards from ages 14 to 25that like to take chances or risks. They live a care free life without a care in the world. Nike wanted to let them know they now make a shoe just for skateboards.
I think that this Nike add is just showing that if you buy their product that you will have a good day no matter what. The young man was not chased by the dog he was able to go to all parts of town with worrying about how to get there or any padlocks. The young man was able to skate away from the cops when they approached him, and then when ice cube ran over his skate board it was all okay because he still had his Nike shoes. In reality if a young man just skated away from the cops he would be in some time of trouble. The cops are not going to let somebody disrespect them and get away from it, and unless you are Cobe Bryant or Ice Cube you are not going to be too happy when your skate board gets run over. They are not cheap and in the begging of the commercial the boy was in a nice neighborhood probably middle class so getting a new skateboard is in reality but maybe not any time soon. Nike leaves young men feeling that they will have a good day and anything could happen to them as long as they have their Nike apparel and they will have a good day. In reality it gives the young men false hope a pair of shoes do not make your day, your actions and reactions are what make you have a good day.
Bj said "They also, through this commercial, say that if you buy their skateboard you also become rich and powerful. I diasagree with that simply because nike dosn't sell skateboards and I also believe has different meaning. This commercial has no women in it at all which to me sends a message that women have no setting in skateboarding or nike products, when there are many women or young girls who skateboard as well as buy nike products.
